My name is Luke YerpeStock (pronounced Yuhr'–pee–Stock); I am twenty-eight years old with an Associate's degree in Computer Science from Jamestown Community College and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Binghamton University. I also have backgrounds in Physics, French, and Theatre.
Despite everything in the above paragraph, however, my primary study is in Music. I have over twenty years' practice and experience at playing the piano, along with a substantial established background in composition, scoring, sound recording, and post-production. I have written three Broadway-style musicals, dozens of contemporary-style songs, and I've even recorded my own compositions as background music for a startup game company.
I am located in the southwestern tier of New York State, United States. I am willing to travel certain distances for an opportunity to provide music – within reason.
Weddings
If you're getting married, I would be happy to play at your wedding! I have a large library of traditionally-appropriate wedding music to choose from, and will play anything else you request. I'll even compose something unique for your special day, if you like. If you are in need of a singer as well, that is a service I also offer, though I can get you in touch with singers much more talented than myself too.
The charge for a wedding ceremony is $150. For an additional $60/hour, I will play background music at your reception as well. These rates are subject to certain circumstances such as location.
Piano Lessons
No matter your skill level, if you are seeking to improve your ability as a pianist, I can help you with that! I have an extensive technical background in classical piano playing, and I offer private piano lessons for $30/hour or $15/half hour. Unfortunately, this is not a service I can regularly offer outside the general Cattaraugus County area.
If you are interested, we can set up a free consultation to evaluate your skill level, discuss what your goals are, and how I would help you reach said goals. Your first half-hour lesson with me is also free.
Composition Commissions
If you have a digital project, a performance, or a presentation—anything that needs some nice background music—you can commission that from me. I am a firm believer in music telling the same story as the medium it accompanies; thus, my goal is to give you music that works and is to your satisfaction. I write, record, and produce everything myself using my own equipment, so that is figured into the cost. What you get from me is a complete work, formatted for your specific need. I will even send you works-in-progress along the way to ensure that what I am producing is what you want.
For my own protection (as well as your own), this particular service must be negotiated by contract before I can send you anything, including works-in-progress. Price will be negotiated based on the amount of work I estimate I will have to put into your commission, as well as how quickly you will need the work completed, which can require other projects of mine to be postponed.
Live Music
Are you hosting a dinner? Are you are running a gala that needs some classy background music? Perhaps you're planning a festival, or you want your party to have a more relaxed atmosphere than your average DJ can give you.
Whatever your event needs, I can provide music for it. Just tell me what you want and I'll take care of the rest. Rates are $100 for the first hour and $80/hour after that, though this is negotiable based on the event's circumstances.
Unfortunately, because of pre-production copyright issues I am reluctant to post a large number of examples of my own work. What is provided here is the majority of what I am comfortable exposing publicly.
Icon, Hinman Production Company, April 2013
Icon is a two-act musical I wrote between 2011 and 2013 which I had the tremendous opportunity to stage and direct with the Hinman Production Company based on the campus of Binghamton University. The musical is currently in the process of being rewritten, but I consider it at this time to be a signature production among all of my writing.
Hammerout Games
I have been hired by a startup LLC as a contracted consultant to write, record, and produce any and all music needed for the company's games. Nothing has been published by the company presently, hence the Work-In-Progress status.
Please Excuse the Mess
Don't get me wrong; I know quite a bit about web design and web programming and all the rest of it—it just takes me some time to get everything right. The website itself is a work in progress, hence the minimalism presented here. More coming very soon!
